As France's story goes on, England slouches further. She wishes she could be surprised. Europe will never be peaceful, she should know that by now, but she had almost dared to hope that maybe this time they had learned their lesson. But there was always a new generation to forget the lessons of the previous one, though this time it seemed like even that couldn't be to blame.

It's been a few years, but not long enough for the memories of the trenches to fade. Her mind keeps flicking back to them as she hears more.

When France finishes, she sighs and rests her head in her hands.]

... And that's it then? [The horrors of the Great War don't scare them into stopping, they just inspire them to move onto greater, more terrifying wars. Wonderful.]

Non... It does get better. The Iron Curtain falls. The Soviet Union collapses economically and tensions between the East and West are far better.



The world power economies are struggling in 2011, but--ah, even Allemagne and I are on good terms, believe it or not. Last year in October, he finally repaid all of the First War's debts. We are strong in my time, and--ah I apologize, Rosemary. I've talked so much. If I could tell you how much the world has changed since the first war, I think I'd be talking forever.
